First of all I believe a nation needs the basics, which I believe Gambia already has and that's why the country has come as far as it has come. I refer to the high quality of the legal, accounting, financial and other professional services available.

Gambia has proven to be the right environment for NICE International to start up its network business, which it aspires to roll out of Africa. Gambia is unique as far as NICE is concerned because of its strategic geographical proximity to Europe, the friendly but efficient business climate, the relative simplicity and peaceful environment, high quality and reliable manpower and above all the support GIPFZA gives in setting up NICE Gambia.

The business of NICE Gambia is a growing sustainable business and pro poor investment bringing new employment opportunities and need servcies to the poor, but NICE could not havae set up this business without the laudable support of GIPFZA. Setting up a high cost investment business with low margins, we could not have achieved a successful pilot which is a fundamental criterion for expanison without the attractive investment incentive package we have from GIPFZA.

We are benefiting from exemption from customs duties, exemption from withholding tax and tax on dividends, exemption from sales tax, exemption from turn-over tax and benefiting from a special scheme of accelerated depreciation. Without all the benefits and the favourable business climate NICE could not have survived the test.
