Africell Gambia Ltd. came to The Gambia in April 2001. We initially started on a small scale providing network access to mainly customers in the greater Banjul area and its surrounding villages. In these 7 years, we have expanded massively, currently nearing almost 100% coverage of the entire country. Such an impressive growth is only possible as a result of the investment climate created by The Gambia Government through its investment agency - The Gambia Investment Promotion and Free Zones Agency (GIPFZA).

We have discussed each expansion program we carried out during this period with GIPFZA; and on each occasion they amply demonstrated their unwavering commitment and support to each of our expansion plans. GIPFZA acts also as a good interface between investors and government ministries/departments thus helping in fast tracking decisions on requests made by investors.
